This talk emphasizes the importance of a community-oriented approach to preventing harassment, offering a new set of frameworks for understanding the problem and opening new possibilities for solutions.

This talk explores the cultural, political, and institutional evolution of Title IX policy. Beginning with how the concept of harassment was articulated, it traces how how this changed the landscape for women and girls in educational institutions. It ends by examining the present-day situation for women in higher education and STEM.
